The working hands of Akron Hope
Akron Hope is made up of six executive members that are dedicated to serving others in the Akron Community. They are all students at The University of Akron and have dreams of inspiring hope to the next generation.
Cami grew up in a suburb of Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Akron in 2013. She is a junior at the University of Akron studying Human Resource Management. Cami is very passionate about helping others and facilitating growth in as many people as she can. As she begins her journey with Akron Hope, she is very excited to see where God will lead the group. She trusts that Akron Hope will truly make a huge difference in the lives of so many kids.
Taylor grew up in Uniontown, Ohio and is currently a sophomore at The University of Akron. She is majoring in Integrated Marketing and Communications with the hope of working for a professional sports team one day. She got involved with Akron Hope through Jen Vliet, and can’t wait to see where it will go!
Jen is from a small town outside of Toledo Ohio and is currently a Junior at The University of Akron. She is studying AYA Integrated Social Studies Education and wants to be a high school history teacher. Jen got involved with Charleston Hope when her cousin, Chad Cooke, passed away. Just as Chad did, she has a passion for serving others, following Christ, inspiring kids, and making a difference in people's lives. She wishes to carry out Chad's mission by being as active as possible in Akron Hope and Adopt a Classroom.
Zach is currently a junior at the University of Akron and is studying education. He grew up in Canton, Ohio home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to Cleveland sports and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His life long dream has been to become an educator along with being a football and head lacrosse coach. Zach hope's to have as much success on the field as he does off the field. His dream is to groom young men into great leaders in the community once they graduate high school and participate in athletics.
Matt is from Warren, OH, but now lives in Akron. He is a sophomore at the University of Akron studying Marketing Management and Integrated Marketing Communications. Matt loves spending time outdoors. If you can't find him, he's probably on a hike. Soccer is another passtime of Matt's. One of Matt's goals is to work in the nonprofit sector doing marketing for things he cares about, particularly defraying substandard housing in rural Appalachia.
Bridget was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and is a sophomore at The University of Akron. She is studying psychology and childhood development and hopes to work as a grief counselor for kids after she graduates. In her free time, Bridget loves exploring the beautiful outdoors or getting sucked into a good book. Her goal in life is to make others happy and smiling, and is blessed to be a part of Akron Hope to spread that joy.
